About Project Blue Bear

Project Blue Bear aims to help children who are in need of comforting after experiencing a traumatic event. By supplying ECB's (Emergency Comfort Bears) and other comfort items to police and first responders, this will equip them with another valuable service tool in their belt. As adults, it is easy to forget how even the smallest things, such as a teddy bear, can elicit a deep emotional response from a child. We have found that,  when placed in the hands of a child, a teddy bear can change their world.  
Nearly half of American children experienced at least one or more serious traumatic childhood events, according to a survey conducted by the National Survey of Children's Health (NSCH). With so many studies linking childhood trauma to violence, depression, suicide, alcohol, and drug abuse, it is vital that we protect the well-being of all children.
